Dusty brought back a little video from the last Badlands Event in South Haven, Kansas. Did not get a whole lot on tape. This is the one with Jim Power's crash. Thankfully Jim is doing well and already working on a new ride. Do to a transfer glitch, these videos do lack sound. I will try and get the master tape again in the future.

11-17-07 SOMETHING WE HAD A GOOD LAUGH OVER!
Dusty and I were talking and laughing about a moment that happened at the Stompers4x4 Kearney, Missouri Event. Dusty was announcing that night and we were raffling away all kinds of stuff. Dusty of course decides to interview every prize winner and is thinking up questions on the spot. One guy won a tent. And of course Dusty asks him what he plans on doing with the tent? I happen to catch it on video. Dusty thought it would be funny to share.
Yes.....what would you do with a tent?

Oh, and Dusty wanted me to post the "Springfield Gang"

11-17-07 DUSTY WORKING ON MISSOURI STATE FINALS COMPETITION! KANSAS EVENT LINING UP RIGHT BEHIND IT!!!
Dusty has been working on this for a while. Thought I would take some excerpts from the message board and put them all in one place. Since I don't reference everyone asking questions - take the below as Dusty thinking out loud with nothing set in stone.
From Dusty:
i have been thinking about this for awhile- missouri mud used to have a state finals in richmond or cameron i believe- why dont we bring this type of race back. have a state finals and name state champions for diff classes.??
*****
i am going to start finding a
location and a end of year date for 2008- so any association wants
to sign on as endorsing the race can do so and help support it. get
us all together for one day for a massive shootout of all- bog and
fastrack if possible. imagine if thundershock becomes the mo state
prostock fasttrack champ- how will that set with you guys from
missouri!! i think it will be a great time. hopefully everyone
agrees and will keep the date open or make arrangments. i think this
event would even get the superlift outdoor team to come film it. im
working on it right now- gotta call dewayne and get a favor pulled!!
*****
i would probably use some
uniqie rules that mirror grannys and stompers and some other things
thrown in and thrown out so all the eastern guys could come and yes
mmor is welcome to come and be apart of it and ill go check there
rules as well. im thinking if its billed as a state championship we
could get some sponsors and maybe even tv time i know dewayne can
pull it off if we get serious and i am. im not gonna leave anyone
out and the rules will be livable by all. two rails classes sounds
okay to me. will work on finalizing some sort of rules-- i also
think a class using our stompers b class rules but no gutting is in
store for a race like this- just for guys who cant pull vacuum but
dont really compete with gutted trucks and such. anyways this race
will happen in 2008. anyone know of some good locations preferrably
in the middle of the state let me know and ill look into it.
*****
some sort of qualifying method but with the many different rules it would be tough. i think the rules will be simple and will be livable- see im not saying perfect but all will find a place and feel comfortable. i beleive the rule set for the finals would be the same every year and maybe sometime say 2009 we can set up a few races using the finals rules say call it the missouri state championship mud racing series- and say one race is held in rror turf- one in mmor one in stompers area and one in the ssmra. place in the top 10 at any event and earn an invite to the finals. but lets not muddle this whole idea with rules discussion- man even the nmro regulars cant agree on rules so its best to just say- hey its the finals let go to it. it would bring the state together once a year to hold one big race- and winners get to claim they are the missouri state champ. i will get the rules together for this and will claim a date and location soon and notify all the associations of my intent and hopefully get them on board and get them to come and help put it on. would be nice to get some our missouri mud racing legends hall of fame members to come and set up a little booth of sorts before hand or a banquet before hand(night before) for anyone who wants to come see some oldschool video and hear some of the stories of how we got this sport to where we are today. so all im asking for is everyone to be open minded and support this idea and see if we cant make something big happen with it.see how this first one goes and then go from there and then we can set up a statewide points series with implications to qualify for the state finals!!!! using one unique set of rules that although not the norm for your area- but definitely livable and usable by a large majority. hopefully!!
*****
will have a outlaw class-
there are just too many guys racing it to nopt have it and its a
good show for the crowd. i take this class all the way down to damn
near tx and and guys always jump in it- the ok and ia,ne tx guys
like it cuz they can run cuts or paddles and not run against rails.
also a tracotr tire only class(wonder if plum purple will strap on
tractors for this race- i bet so!!!) the other up in the air right
now. will be similar to what everyone runs for the most part.
*****
being missouri state champ will be tough to do- imagine if all the guys show up at one place at one time and duke it out!! working on a place right now- how does sedalia sound?? kinda central. anyways still looking for a location and will decide the date then go after some sponsors and the tv coverage.
*****
that would definitely set some excitement- say top 10 in each class move to the night show?? dont know yet sounds pretty interesting might have to do something like that the following year after i get it established. but it would be nice to set the stage for a showdown to see who is the best in the state(or from out of state
*****
probably just be show up this first year and winner is the state champ- the following year might make it some sort of points or have a few races labled as qualifying events and take it that way. gonna be a good time0 mud pony from arkansas emailed some pics of his new rail- said he would love to bring the missouri state championship home to arkansas!!!!
*****
not sure how it will work out
yet for sure- a weekend would be better than try to fit everyone in
one day- wont limit the entries this first year might have to look
at it for the following years(qualifying events by placememnt at one
of the events in top 15 at at least one event to get invited) but
the first one will be come one come all working on a venue- trying
to talk state fair into letting me use their ground- they love the
fast track side by side portion of it just not too keen on the bog
pit idea- trying to see about the field behind the arena they use
for the drags for a pit. so might work into a weekend event. sedalia
would be my first option and is kinda centeral for all. anyways
working on it right now- want to have it all nailed down by new
years so i can get moving with other stuff.

11-13-07 10,000 PHOTO UPDATE!
I have talked about Project 25,000 before. Posting a bunch of older mud racer/general off road stuff photos I have taken over the years. Actually at this point it has turned into Project 35,000. And I know that it just a drop in the bucket. The next two sections add up to around 10,000 more photos posted. The first section takes you to a site where I am experimenting with a new platform. It is still a little ruff to navigate, but I want to do more testing before I make any major changes. Let me know if you see any glitches. One that I have already discovered is some random discolorization on some of the photos that does not exist on the master photos. I let it be for now as there are not too many suffering from it.
Then visit this section as I needed more storage space. Go to this buried page below and navigate more photos from that point.

I am doing some testing and added 1,000 photos to the site and have more planned. Just want to make sure the new format is working before I add more photos. So you can check out some photos at www.stompers4x4racing.com and click on the links on the front page. Very basic now with no links back to the home page. But that is all I had time to do at the moment.
11-4-07 2008 STOMPERS4X4 EVENT RULES POSTED:
Every year we take to review the feedback ALL racers have given us throughout the year. Trying to find a balance and yet keep pace with the changes of the sport. With the feedback we have gotten, it tells us we might just have reached a good balance that a lot of racers are enjoying. So only once change is added to the rules - trucks are allowed in the rail class now if they have cuts or paddles. Click the link below to check them out!

Thanks to everyone who
turned out for the Get'R-Done Fundraiser Event on Saturday and
everyone who contributed. Sounds like a great result! And congrats
to Bethany!
Email from Bethany Lager:
Scott and Stompers,
We would like to thank all of you guys for donating the timers to us
to use for the benefit run that we had for our friend who tragicly
died in a head on collision earlier this summer. They worked great
and we had a blast in remeberance of our friend, Jeremy Salinas, who
had previously helped in all of our races as a flag man. His life
was taken at only 21 years of age and his family was not able to pay
for all expenses of the funeral and services. Thanks to your
donations and many others Jeremy's family will be able to get him
the proper head stone and pay off the rest of the funeral expenses.
We can never thank you enough without your help we could not have
been so successful and we really appreciate your kindness. Thanks a
million.
On a lighter note, i just wanted to let you know, that i am the
proud mother of a little boy. He was born on September 17th. I
wanted to be at Mclouth but i couldn't find a babysitter haha. So we
have a new little mud racer, we are going to start working on his
truck next spring.
Thanks for everything,
Bethany and Get'R Done Mud Run Crew

From Dusty:
this has been an idea me and scott have had for the last year or so and then the mra issue came up so we held off on this so as not to confuse folks or draw attention away from the national movement that we are aprt of and endorse. stompers 4x4 is known mainly as a bog organization and we always get calls asking if its okay to borrow our rules. so we decided a site dedicated to mud boggers and posting rules and info to use for promoters and general info relating to putting on mud events was in place. so this section and site will relate to mud bogs and general event operation of those events. It is not limited to just bogs but we will see how the support goes.
Site will be up and running soon:

Another branch of the
Stompers family events tree.....
Dusty and I have been working on this for quite a while. Everyone
already knows we have done some additional events outside of the
Stompers schedule. The Stompers crew (which includes us) has been
donating a huge amount of time putting of 6-8 shows a season. Really
when you are trying to do it right and are taking the time and care
the staff puts into it....that is an incredibly full schedule.
You have also seen that me and Dusty try and make the sport grow as
much as we can and we have had a "Dusty Venue" in Miami, Oklahoma
and a "Special Event" in Brookfield, Missouri and we have simply
"helped" other people put on shows. Although the key to making it
all happen has been Stomper Dusty and Stomper Scott....it could have
never happened without the involvement of a lot of people.
So we thought it was time to give a name to a collective....Outlaw
Mud. Not a club and not an association. It is Mud Racing. It can be
bogging, it can be fast track, and it can be side x side. It can be
all that those who support it want it to be.
More info in the works.
Contact us if you are interested in any type of event. Stompers4x4,
XMRO, and Outlaw Mud all have unique characteristics....and we will
hook you up with the right department....because we work in all the
departments.

MESSAGE FROM ED WILLIAMS WITH THE LIONS CLUB. HE ASKED ME TO POST THIS. THANKS ED!:
To all the racers that came out to the Jesse James Showdown in Kearney…Thank You! Hope everyone had a great time, it was a huge success and the community loved it! And to confirm about next year…yes we are having a mud event next year, held at the same place and with a Fast Track. I have already started working on it by attending meetings with the park board and city council the last couple of days. Due to the big turnout from the racers and the show you put on…people haven’t stopped talking about it! I personally talked with the civic people and other club members and all of them are very impressed with the professionalism of the Stompers4x4 crew and the enthusiastic response from the racers that came to the event. The Lions Club can’t say enough about you guys and we hope you want to come back again next year for an even bigger show because we are ready to put one on!!! Special thanks to Dusty and Scott for their continued support, we could not have pulled it off in the amount of time we had without their motivation and knowledge of what it takes to put on a mud racing event! See you in Lawson, MO.

9-17-07 LETTER FROM KEARNEY, MISSOURI
From Ed Williams,
V. President of The Kearney Lions Club
Hey Scott, can you pass along a
special invitation to the drivers from The Kearney Lions Club! We
are really looking forward to having them come out to help us
promote this sport and bring it to the Kearney area year after year.
You would not believe the response we are getting from this
community, young and old alike...it's unbelievable! Everyone was
excited when Steve Thompson started his truck in the Jesse James
parade last Saturday! Special thanks to Steve for coming out to help
us promote the Jesse James Showdown! We saw just how ready
this community is to see an extreme version of a motor sport never
before seen in Kearney MO. It's time we get put on the map, if this
goes as good as we think, Kearney wants to be a part of the "Super
Bowl" of Mud Racing next year, Missouri vs. Kansas...how good is
that?!!! We want you to come out and show us what's it's all about!
The Kearney Lions are proud sponsors of
Boy Scout Troop 397 and serve the community in several ways,
examples of our support are; hosting the Halloween Party for
children (started 50 years ago), provide the Robert G. Pence
Memorial Scholarship which goes to a Kearney High School Graduate
each year, plaques are provided for the Outstanding Boy and
Outstanding Girl senior students at Kearney High School as chosen by
the school administration, donate food, provide money and school
supplies to local food banks, collect used eyeglasses which are
recycled throughout the world, work with the City of Kearney to
co-host the July 3rd Fireworks Celebration, donated land
for Lions Park in Kearney, donate money and toys to Holt Holiday
Helpers annually and sponsor a Band student to attend an
International Band Camp.

9-16-07 MONSTER TRUCK STYLE LINE-UP AT MCLOUTH
From Alex:
Well this year at Mclouth
we are going to do something that we have never done before.....
We would like to get a bounch of driver before the show to park your
trucks between the drag track and bog pit facing the hill side where
all the spectators will be at, and just like a monster truck show
Dusty will announce your name and your truckname and tell where you
are from, This will be a first come first space type deal, once we
run out of room thats it, so get there early if you we to be in fron
the crowd with a shiny truck and to wave at the kids...
This is the biggest race around, it is the superbowl, We want to do
something cool and different... So if you want to be in the line up,
get there early, have your truck/ rail ready.. And after the drivers
meeting you can go stand by your truck and wave to the crowd and
show them what they have been waiting to see since last year... I
was in Mclouth last night, everybody in town can't wait to see the
racers, you guys bet out the tractor pull's, demo derby, threshing
show, this town loves you guy's, let give them a little extra this
year guys and gals
Thanks Alex
Shine them up and it is first come first serve! Some other special moments planned for those of you who attend.
This will be a really cool pics when Scott takes these.... Would make a cool poster...
From Scott:
We thought when you all pull
off of the line up.....we would have everyone out their fire up
their 4x4's at the same time.
I remember at Kansas City last year when we would have 3 or 4 trucks
at a time move from the pit to the opposite side of the line
up.....just 3 or 4 trucks driving down the side of the pit just
captivated to crowd. Can you imagine how cool it would be for the
fans if a bunch of 4x4's fired up at once to pull off?

have some more updates coming soon on the site. I will be lucky if
the site updates slow down by January 1st!
I should have a Brookfield DVD ready by McLouth and will bring

9-7-07 KANSAS BADLANDS BLOWOUT OCT 20TH $5,000
POST FROM JASON:
We are in the process of
establishing our own rules with the help and information from Dusty
(Granny's and XMRO), CMBA, MAMR, and Stompers. Thank You All!!! esp.
Dusty, Alan Bliss, and Dave Moeller!!!
I should be posting them next week on our website....we are still
going to have our two rail classes on the fast tracks and at least
one class of trucks on it as well.....the truck class rules on the
fast track will be dusty's rules....we race side by side on our fast
track with the tree, this time it will be the full tree with
reaction time included, not the pro.....
here is the payout on the two (2) rail classes for the fast track
rail entry fee on the fast track will be $50 (100% PAYBACK) below
are what the payouts will be with 6 rail entries ($300) hopefully we
have more than that!!!!
1st= $1000 (guaranteed by KBL)
2nd=$500 (guaranteed by KBL)
3rd=40% of entry fees (6 rail entries=$120)
4th=30% of entry fees (6 rail entries=$90)
5th=20% of entry fees (6 rail entries= $60)
6th=10% of entry fees minimum $50 (if 10% does not equal $50, the
KBL will add enough money to make it $50)
We are also going to have a rail class in the bog pit....added money
on it to be determined.....there will probably be 3 total fast track
classes and 8 bog pit classes....I think we have been lenient enough
to allow anyone a place to race....
Hope you can join us for our last race of the season and stay and
party with us afterward to celebrate the year.....

9-3-07 VIDEO UPDATE ON THE BEATRICE MUD DRAGGERS SITE
Got some video added that Chris sent down. Visit the site and click on video and scroll down for a lot of side x side racing action.
9-3-07 DUSTY THANKS FOR BROOKFIELD!
Note from Dusty: wow- it
was one hell of a show. the draggers put on a good show. i think pro
mod had like 16 entries of which 8 0r 9 were rails, and the rest had
over 20 in each class. the bog was truly a bog. you either went over
the top or were stuck at like 50 feet. the chicks really let
superjeep hang out in the bog with a nice pass- i was pumped to see
the perkins pass too but problems on the line didnt let them go. we
had nice track thanks to dr. dirt tony truitt and bailey morton
working all week on them. thanks to granny and the gals who did
registration, scott announced half the show and brian ellison and
granny did some announcing, matt phieff for being a good sport and
running around to hand out the free shirts courtesy of perkins
family racing. there are so many who helped and some i dont even
know their names but it came out great and we couldnt have done it
without everyone pitching and thanks so much for the racers who came
out to put on a show. and i think the draggers really put it on the
boggers in our own game. the draggers crossed over and took the
outlaw and open classes. anyways great time and glad we were able to
help the local community out with this fundraiser. hope to see it
become an annual event. battle of brookfield 2 has a nice ring to it
huh!. thanks to jim powers for hauling up my cable and foot moarkers
and to john burton and steve thompson for hauling them home and
picking them up after the show.
9-3-07 PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS FROM BROOKFIELD
Thanks to Mike Bartelt for coming out and taking professional photos at the Brookfield event. Below is just a sample senior photo he gave me with his contact info. I know he took a ton of high quality photographs.....he and his $10,000 camera were getting covered in mud. (Sorry guys, if I had a $10,000 camera I would not only keep it away from the mud, I would keep my fingerprints off of it!). Have not talked to him yet but hopefully he will share some but I am sure you can purchase some. Much better quality than I can ever attain unless I start charging people for every thing I do! Which makes sense he will need to charge for his photos. You can contact Mike at 515-963-9841
9-3-07 EXTREME INSANITY UPDATE COMING SOON

9-3-07 THANKS TO MATT PFEIFF

9-3-07 BROOKFIELD RESULTS
Dusty gave me the results and they are now posted on the link below. No particular order.
9-3-07 THANKS FOR AN INCREDIBLE SHOW!
Thanks for an INCREDIBLE
show!!!!
And a huge THANK YOU to Bailey and all of his crew that worked so
hard to make it a success. You all made an incredible venue for a
great community!
I don't know how many racers stopped and thanked me and Dusty for
the show.....but we would tell them the truth......it is all about
you, not us! We very much appreciate each and everyone one of you
from the stock racer to the highly modified.
We are trying to provide and support some great venues and it is
your support which will make the sport thrive to new levels.
I had representatives present from the Kearney Event we have planned
for September 29 and they were simply in awe of the show!
Dusty your dedication to the sport continues to amaze me to this
day. You actually had people standing and cheering for the Stock
Class at 2AM in the morning!
----------------------
FROM BAILEY:
I wanted to thank everyone
who came to make this what it was and to tell everyone who the
people where that made this happen, Granny, Dusty, and Scott these
people are a cut above, l hope you all realize what kind off people
they are, they went to great lengths to promote this race and help
out all day long, anytime you see one of them, thank them, tell them
how much you appreciate them because without them this sport would
not be what it is today! My hats to them for all their hard work and
time and money invested in this sport, you all are in a class all
your own.
I would like to thank Tony Truitt and his father as they have many
hours and dollars investested in the preparation of the tracks.
Thanks to my dad and brother they hooked the cable all night long on
the far end, l dont think they got to see a single vehicle go in the
pit, had to be very boring down on their end and yet they hung in
there till the last truck hooked up. Thanks to my wife for taking
care of the times all night, but mostly for putting up with me
through all this, Thanks to Joel Head for lining trucks up all day
and night long l know he walked his azz off. Matt Phiffe, Brian
Ellison, Jimmy Dorrell, Wyman Slater, Cory Luddington, Johnnie
Burton, David and Linda Jones, Joey Roberts, Brad Thomas, fire
dept.,ambulance, and many, many others behind the scenes that made
this event what it was.
In the end l heard $7900 was collected at the gate and that would
not have been possible without all you racers that are addicted to
the sport, showing up to put the show on, it was because of you all
that made this the show it was so thanks to all and remember the
next time you see Granny, Dusty or Scott give them some words of
appreciation because they are the ones that have made the mud world
what it is today, THANK YOU ALL, Derek Morton

8-31-07 STOMPERS4X4 EVENT IN KEARNEY, MISSOURI: SEPTEMBER 29, 2007

JESSE JAMES SHOWDOWN IN KEARNEY, MISSOURI
SEPTEMBER 29, 2007
September 29, 2007. Starts at 5pm. Registration from 1-3:30pm. Added money in the works.
This will be a fundraiser for the Kearney, Missouri Lions Club. And it will be at the Jesse James Park in Kearney , Missouri. And it will be called the “Jesse James Showdown” in conjunction with the Jesse James Festival period.
This is the added venue we had been working on for a while. Part of the delay was simply trying find the best date or waiting till next year. I can only describe the efforts of the Lions Clubs as being incredible in wanting to get this rolling this season. I really hope everyone can come out to this event because they are a great group of people that want to be involved in the sport.
There is more reason than one that they want to attach our event to the world famous Jesse James Days Festival. And this is the date that they wanted. I know it might be a hassle for some of you to make it the week after McLouth…..but we appreciate you coming out and racing with us. It is festival season and we are having a hard time not conflicting with our own events dates, let alone other event dates.
This will be Bog only this year. But they tell me if they get a good turnout, they will be up for a fast track for next year to add on. And if we have a good turnout, they want to keep having an annual event.
I have been working closely with the town reps on this one. They have really been going to great lengths to get it to happen this year. The Mayor himself even plans on coming out and racing with us!
Come on out everyone! This is an incredible opportunity that a town is this supportive in trying to bring mud racing to town!
